Healthy + Well writer: Jasmine Walker
Hi! My name is Jasmine Walker and I am a first-year student at the University of Richmond. When I was 15 years old, I decided I wanted to start going to the gym and prioritizing my health. After taking group exercise classes for 3 years, I recently became certified to teach a group exercise class called Body Attack. When I began going to the gym, I was intimidated by the big machines and the grunting men, so I decided to try a group fitness class to start out with. I was able to improve my fitness and have a lot of fun while doing it! The gym has been my favorite place ever since, whether I’m teaching a class, lifting weights, or showing a friend how to use the machines. My favorite thing to do is watch other people fall in love with fitness just like I did.
